RACCOON, Ky. – An all-terrain vehicle mishap Monday night sent a juvenile to the hospital with serious injuries. At approximately 8 p.m. Kentucky State Police Post 9 in Pikeville received a 911 call stating an ATV had collided with a vehicle along Ridgeline Road in Pike County.

Mother Nature smiled on the Pike County Relay for Life this year, helping local teams raise more than $121,000 for the American Cancer Society. The 12-hour event began at 4:30 p.m. Friday on the walking track grounds at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center and ended at 4:30 a.m. Saturday.

The body of Marine Lance Cpl. Casey Casanova arrived Thursday in Mississippi, carried in a plane that landed at McComb-Pike County Airport in Fernwood, where mourners held an informal, solemn ceremony marking her homecoming.
